As we wander back through the years one will find that the styles of yesterday are sure to return, it happens over and over again. When considering your rock star wardrobe one thing is for sure, don’t get rid of the clothes you wore as a teenager or you will be upset in the future. Lets wander through the history of fashion trends and what comes back to entertain or haunt us.
First of all, back in the seventies. the style was bell bottoms and butterfly collars for men. And for ladies it was the loud polyester patterns of huge flowers and bright colors or maybe something you might see on a couch. Twenty years later the nineties hit and what happened, resurgence. The look of the seventies came full circle and we started seeing the styles on the stage again. We even saw them on the television with shows like “That 70′s show”.
Next we go to the 1980′s. The fashions in those days were recreated again in the early part of this century (2000 – 2005). You can see where this is going. What we see is a resurgence of trends about twenty years after the trend originally hit.
The lesson here is not to through out your old trends. There will always be ways to reuse your old accessories or tops and bottoms. And when you get into trends of the Twenties, Thirties, Forties Fifties and Sixties you see those trends pop up, here and there, consistently but randomly in any time, so it’s important not only to hang on to these garments but to become a collector. Shopping in the second hand store may not have the feel of Fifth Avenue or the like, but honestly, who cares. Go where the styles are. Remember this, fashions of yesterday should never be passed over.
