You like what you see on television; all of those glamorous and put-together music stars who seem to have it all going for them—including the clothes. Problem is, you have no idea how to pull it off yourself. You’ve tried, of course, with minimal results. You may be able to get the right dress or the right pair of jeans but how do you find the jewelry for the dress and the right t-shirt for the jeans?
Almost as important as the look you want is knowing where you’ll be buying the stuff, (let’s be honest here), without spending a royal fortune.
Here are the hows and wheres:
• Look up a few of the best style guides online. The great ones show not only the photos of celebrities but give you the grit on labels, styles, colors, and even when the celebrity wore the particular item. Type “buying celebrity fashion” in your search engine.
• Get involved in a chat group or subscribe to an RSS feed from your favorite celebrity fashion blog. Get the latest news sent directly to your in-box.
• Get celebrity fashion wholesale from sites like shefinds.com and Tidebuy.com. If you are fond of shopping sales and thrift stores, you can still put together a “lookalike” outfit not using the expensive labels; though top labels are often found at thrift stores if you know how to look.
• Start your own celebrity fashion blog. Take pictures of yourself and get feedback on your outfit combinations. Feedback is the quickest way to know if you’re on track.
• Don’t forget to look at your height, weight, and skin tone when considering a particular outfit. What’s good for the goose may not be good for the gander.
Above all, have fun! Get called out on a fabric or clothing combination that doesn’t look quite right? Keep trying. You’ll be a pro before you know it.
